A list of already configured Telnet sessions is shown. Select New to create a new configuration.

• Name (alias): Any name, as to make it easy to select a session
• Server IP Address: Name of the Linux/UNIX Server. Either a TCP/IP address as 155.22.11.2 or a DNS name.
• Port number:Port number for the session. As default Telnet uses port 23 and with SSh port 22
• SSH-2: Enable SSH-2 encryption. Protocol is Arcfour without certificates.
• Network:
  • WIFI : use wifi
  • MDS : connect with a Blackberry server
  • TCP/IP : connect direct using TCP/IP. Some Blackberry devices may be configured not to allow such a session.
• Keep alive: Select this option to send keep alive messages at telnet level.
• Auto Login + save password: Enable it to send User ID and Password at session start. As the password is stored on the Blackberry, this option gives less security.
• User ID/Password : For Telnet session, used only if auto login is enabled. Must be given for a SSH2 session.

After ordering Mocha Telnet , a license key will be received. Enter the key together with the License Name given on the order. As there is link between the name and license key it is important to enter both very careful.

Text, background and Cursor colors can be changed with this dialog.

Mocha Telnet is as default defined for a VT220 keyboard. Notice keys F1 - F5 are local keys on a real VT220 terminal, and the data these keys should transmit are not defined in any standard. Use UNIX program infocmp to view the current configuration in use on the Server.

None ASCII characters can be written in octal \\xxx

Settings

• Show telnet negotiation : Can be used, if problem with a session. At session start the Telnet traffic will be shown.
• CR to CRLF : Define if the return key is CR or CR + LF.
• Local Echo : If telnet should echo characters typed. The UNIX host can send an escape sequence, to disable the mode.
• Terminal type : Is the TERM value on the UNIX host. Send at session start to the server.
• Auto login : Text to look for before sending user and password.

Telnet Screen

Use menu - scroll to toggle the function of track ball as either scrolling the screen or moving the cursor. The current mode is shown in the status line.

Also right shift + SYM can be used to toggle the mode.

If the Blackberry has a thumbwheel, it will work as up/down. Use ALT + wheel up as left and ALT + wheel down as right.

To select a key between F1 and F20, press the character below the Fxx text. As an example F2 is key W.

This pop up screen can also be activated with keys: ALT + SYM

Telnet includes 3 different fonts, small, medium or large.

The status line display the status for the Telnet terminal.

• SSH : SSH protocol is used
• Scroll : Track ball can scroll the screen
• Cursor : Track ball moves the cursor
• Ctrl : Next key is a control character
